Neil’s Everest Challenge
WT volunteer Neil Buchanan is raising money for Working Together by cycling up to the summit of High Vinnals, near Ludlow, 38 times – which is equivalent to the height of Mount Everest 29,000ft! Wow…
Neil is an ex-fireman who has been volunteering at Working Together for a couple of years. He joins us twice a week and helps support members with activities like painting and gardening.

Drive it Down for Christmas
Drive it Down for Christmas is Shropshire Council’s campaign to reduce cases of Coronavirus over Christmas when Covid-19 restrictions are relaxed.
Rachel Robinson, Shropshire’s Director of Public Health, has said that Christmas is going to feel very different this year, and everyone has made enormous sacrifices over the past 12 months.
The news that rules are being relaxed over the festive period will be welcomed by many, but Rachael urges everyone to think very carefully before taking advantage of the more lenient rules, and to act responsibly.
“We need to keep doing all the things designed to keep us safe, social distancing,
washing hands, wearing face coverings, self-isolating when we are asked to do so, and booking a test if you have symptoms.”
More information can be found on the Council’s website including about forming a Christmas bubble and support for vulnerable households.
** Our BIG Resolution **
As you will have read in this newsletter Neil’s big new year’s resolution is to ride his bike to the top of High Vinnals, near Ludlow, 38 times – to raise money for Working Together.
Not all new year resolutions have to be as challenging as Neil’s or to raise money for charity, they can be personal to each of us.
We’re inviting members to share their resolutions, hopes and dreams for 2021 with us – however big or small. We will be letting you all know how to take part shortly…

Some lovely news just before Christmas…
Jan A’s daughter Charli and her husband Ryan became the proud parents of a little boy called Harry on 11th December 2020 at 6.22am.
Weighing a healthy 8lbs 5ozs mum and baby are doing well. ‘Nanny Jan’ is absolutely ecstatic!!
Many of you may remember Charli, who worked in the WT cafe for 3 years from 2012-2015, and also volunteered at Youth Club. Congratulations everyone!
THANK YOU… mfg
A big THANK YOU to everyone at mfg solicitors for their recent donation to WT, much appreciated.
Merry Christmas to you all.
