Reaping The Harvest…

October 24, 2019 by Yvette Thorman

To the wonderful members of Ludlow Baptist Church...

On behalf of Working Together, our members, staff and volunteers would like to express our heartfelt thanks for the overwhelming amount donated at this year’s Harvest Collection.

Donations like this, really help support Working Together in our work based and learning skills centre at Rockspring. We have decided to invest the £1,000.00 in developing and refurbishing a new Café and are aiming to open officially in the Spring of 2020. We will be offering delicious afternoon teas and hope we can really engage with the local community now we have more space and members.

Simon Lambourne – Minister of the Baptist Church Ludlow said:

“Once a year Ludlow Baptist Church has a harvest collection for charities both local and international. This year we felt we wanted our collection to be invested in a local charity. As Simon (Minister) is a trustee of Working Together, we decided to collect our money for this wonderful local initiative.
We raised over £1000!
Our friends at Working Together are a dream to partner with.
We love them!”

A fine Harvest for Working Together…

Celebrating Lottery Success with or new CE!

August 25, 2019 by Nigel Bishop

Working Together Celebrates Lottery Success with a new Chief Executive!

Yvette and the Working Together team enjoying the sunshine at the Rockspring Centre

We are a local charity supporting adults and young people with learning disabilities and have appointed a new Chief Executive following a successful grant application to the National Lottery Community Fund.

Yvette Thorman joined the team at the beginning of August after a rigorous recruitment campaign. Yvette will lead operations at the charity’s new home at the Rockspring Centre in Ludlow.

Richard Geuter, the founder of Working Together retired at the end of 2017 and since then Nicola North has been voluntarily holding the baton on behalf of the Working Together Trustees. The Community Fund grant has enabled the charity to appoint a new Chief Executive with responsibility for implementing its forward plan for a sustainable future.

Yvette said, “I’m delighted to be appointed as the new Chief Executive for Working Together Ludlow. This post will enable me to bring my business expertise together with my passion to enable and support people with learning disabilities. I am very much looking forward to working with all the members, their families and carers, staff and volunteers and the trustees at Working Together Ludlow to take the charity forward.”

Roma Jackson, Chair of Trustees said, “We’re very pleased to welcome Yvette to Working Together. We are hoping to grow the charity over the next 3 years to welcome more members and offer a wider range of opportunities for people with learning disabilities. It’s an exciting time for Working Together and we would like to thank National Lottery players and the Community Fund for approving our grant request to help us on our way.”
